K Art is a Native American owned contemporary art gallery based in downtown Buffalo, New York, located on the traditional lands of the Seneca Nation and near its current territories. The gallery is distinguished by its sustained focus on international level Native American, First Nations, and Indigenous artists, positioning itself as one of the few commercial galleries dedicated primarily to Indigenous perspectives within a global contemporary art context. Its exhibition program addresses both historical and present day Indigenous experiences through critically engaged and widely recognized presentations.<\/p>\n
The gallery has exhibited works by numerous acclaimed artists, including G. Peter Jemison, Luzene Hill, Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds, Lewis deSoto, Jeffrey Gibson, Meryl McMaster, Duane Slick, Marie Watt, Natalie Ball, and Sonya Kelliher Combs, among others, and has published multiple exhibition catalogues to support its curatorial research.
