K\u00f6nig Galerie is an international contemporary art gallery founded in 2002 by Johann K\u00f6nig, with primary locations in Berlin as well as activities extending to Seoul and Mexico City. The gallery is recognized for its interdisciplinary, concept driven program, presenting both emerging and established artists across media including painting, sculpture, video, installation, photography, printmaking, and performance. A strong emphasis is placed on younger generations of artists and on developing ambitious, research based practices within an international framework.<\/p>\n
In 2015, K\u00f6nig Galerie inaugurated its landmark Berlin space in the former St. Agnes church in Kreuzberg, a Brutalist building designed by Werner D\u00fcttmann and later renovated by Arno Brandlhuber, a project that received the Berlin Architecture Prize in 2016. Since then, the gallery has expanded its presence through the opening of K\u00f6nig Seoul in 2021, the launch of an artist residency in Mexico City in 2024, and the addition of K\u00f6nig Telegraphenamt near Berlin\u2019s Museumsinsel in 2025, alongside a series of international pop up projects.
