Afriart Gallery

Afriart Gallery is an international contemporary art gallery based in Kampala, Uganda, founded in 2002 by artist Daudi Karungi. Since its inception, the gallery has focused on representing artists living and working on the African continent, with the aim of connecting their practices to global audiences and professional art markets. Afriart was established in response to structural challenges facing African artists, and it operates with an emphasis on fairness, long term support, and creative independence.

The gallery’s program includes curated exhibitions, artist workshops, residencies, and mentorship initiatives that encourage experimentation and critical exchange. Alongside its exhibition activities, Afriart Gallery is committed to archiving and documenting contemporary African art in order to preserve cultural histories and support future research.
