Al Markhiya Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Doha and is recognized as Qatar’s oldest privately owned gallery. Since its founding, the gallery has been dedicated to presenting a dynamic exhibition program that brings together emerging and established artists from across the Arab world, while also cultivating international partnerships aimed at expanding the global visibility of Arab contemporary art.

The gallery opened its first exhibition space in Souq Waqif in 2008, moved to a permanent location in Katara Cultural Village in 2014, and expanded again in 2017 with a second venue near the Fire Station Studios. Across its two spaces, Al Markhiya Gallery produces a regularly rotating program of solo and group exhibitions, typically changing every six to eight weeks. Artist led opening receptions and public events are central to the gallery’s identity, fostering dialogue, community engagement, and contributing to the ongoing development of Doha’s contemporary art ecosystem.
