Atelier Editions Fanal is an art printmaking workshop and publishing house founded in 1966 in Basel, Switzerland. Established by the artist Marie Thérèse Vacossin and the lithographer Marcel Mazar, Fanal has developed into a significant center for printmaking, with a particular focus on engraving and silkscreen techniques. Located near the historic Basel Paper Mill, the atelier combines production spaces with an exhibition area, creating a setting where artistic experimentation and craftsmanship are closely connected.
The program of Atelier Editions Fanal is strongly oriented toward constructive and geometric abstraction, emphasizing precise execution and close collaboration between artists and skilled printers. Over the decades, the atelier has published prints and artist books in limited editions by numerous international artists, contributing to the dissemination of contemporary abstract art. Alongside its publishing activity, Fanal regularly presents exhibitions and has maintained a long standing presence at major art fairs, reinforcing its role as both a production site and a platform for contemporary printmaking.
