Casey Kaplan is a contemporary art gallery based in New York, founded in 1995 in a small SoHo loft. From its early years, the gallery established an ambitious and experimental program, supported by collaborations with guest curators and artists, and quickly became known for presenting projects that engaged critically with emerging ideas in contemporary art. Its successive moves within Manhattan, from SoHo to Chelsea and later to the Flower District, reflect the steady expansion of both its physical space and its curatorial scope.
Over more than three decades, Casey Kaplan has developed long term relationships with artists whose work has gone on to shape international contemporary discourse, with exhibitions that have often marked important early moments in their U.S. careers. The gallery today operates across multiple exhibition spaces, allowing for simultaneous presentations, and maintains an active presence in the global art ecosystem through participation in major art fairs and the placement of artists’ work in leading museums, biennales, and editions of Documenta worldwide.
