DAN Galeria is a longstanding art gallery in São Paulo, founded in 1972 by Gláucia and Peter Cohn. Established with a focus on key figures of Brazilian modernism, the gallery built its programme around foundational movements from the 1920s onward, later incorporating artists associated with the Santa Helena Group as well as important strands of Concrete and Neo Concrete art and postwar abstraction.
In 1985, the gallery expanded its scope with the creation of a contemporary art department led by Flávio Cohn, strengthening DAN Galeria’s engagement with current Brazilian and international production while maintaining a strong research based approach to historical work. Operating from spaces in São Paulo, including its long running address on Rua Estados Unidos and its DAN Galeria Contemporânea space on Rua Amauri, the gallery supports exhibitions, fair participation, institutional collaborations, and an active publishing practice with an extensive catalogue output.
