El Apartamento, Havana

Founded in 2015 in Havana, El Apartamento is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to Cuban and Spanish artistic practices, with a strong emphasis on long term collaboration and critical engagement. The gallery has become an important platform within the Hispano American art context, developing projects that connect local perspectives with broader international conversations. Its program is shaped through close dialogue with artists, curators, and cultural practitioners, allowing for exhibitions that address social, political, and historical themes.

El Apartamento has realized notable initiatives including projects linked to the Havana Biennial, collaborations with CONDO in New York and Mexico City, and participation in PhotoEspaña. Active internationally, the gallery regularly takes part in major art fairs such as Frieze London, ARCOmadrid, The Armory Show, Zona MACO, LISTE Basel, and Art Brussels. In 2023, the gallery expanded with the opening of a space in Madrid, strengthening its international presence while continuing to place works by its artists in significant public and private collections, including MoMA, Tate Modern, and PAMM.
