Flowers Gallery is a contemporary art gallery with roots in London, founded in 1970 by Angela Flowers. From its early beginnings on Lisle Street above the Artists International Association, the gallery became an important platform for contemporary artists such as Arakawa, Wendy Taylor, Deanna Petherbridge, and Derek Boshier. It has placed works in major international collections including Tate, the British Council, MoMA New York, and the Ludwig Museum, and was an early participant in Art Basel in 1971.
In May 2020, coinciding with its fiftieth anniversary, Flowers Gallery opened a space in Hong Kong, extending its long standing international presence into Asia. The Hong Kong program focuses on supporting mid career and emerging artists in the region, with particular attention to process based practices. Building on this commitment, the gallery launched Flowers Projects in May 2023, a nomadic exhibition and residency initiative aimed at introducing Asian artists to audiences in North America and Europe.
