Foksal Gallery Foundation is a contemporary art institution founded in 1997 by art critic and curator Andrzej Przywara and based in central Warsaw since 2001. The foundation is dedicated to the promotion of contemporary Polish art within both local and international contexts, supporting artistic practices through exhibitions, publications, and participation in major art fairs since its first appearance at Liste in 2000. In 2015, its building was redesigned by Diener & Diener, and has since become a recognized architectural landmark in the city.
The foundation represents around twenty leading contemporary artists who have played a significant role in shaping Polish contemporary art, including Paweł Althamer, Paulina Ołowska, Wilhelm Sasnal, Monika Sosnowska, Piotr Uklański, and Artur Żmijewski. Alongside its gallery program, Foksal Gallery Foundation works closely with the estates of Erna Rosenstein and Edward Krasiński. Krasiński’s former studio has been transformed into the Avant‑Garde Institute, a platform dedicated to preserving and activating modern art heritage through exhibitions, performances, lectures, and research activities.
