Freight+Volume is a contemporary art gallery based in New York, founded in 2003 by Nick Lawrence. Located in a 2,800 square foot storefront in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, the gallery is dedicated to discovering and presenting a focused group of emerging and mid career artists through an ambitious and carefully developed exhibition program.

While Freight+Volume has a particular interest in narrative and text based practices, its program is ultimately driven by the strength and originality of the work itself. The gallery presents projects across a wide range of media and subject matter, often emphasizing dynamic and provocative approaches. Beyond exhibitions, Freight+Volume maintains an active publishing initiative, having produced more than 150 limited edition artist books, and runs a seasonal live and work artist residency on Cape Cod, supporting sustained artistic production and exchange.
