Gaga
Mexico City, 06700 Mexico Get Directions
Gaga is a contemporary art gallery based in Mexico City, founded in January 2008 as an extension of the former production office Perros Negros. It began its activity as a commercial gallery with Claire Fontaine’s solo exhibition Capitalism Is Not Working, establishing an early commitment to critical and conceptually driven practices. Since then, the gallery has developed a program that represents both local and international artists from different generations working in and around Mexico.
The gallery operates through close, long term collaboration with its artists, many of whom work across multiple disciplines, collectives, brands, and institutional contexts. Embracing Mexico flexible, and experimental structure. More system as both peripheral and central, Gaga has cultivated an open, flexible, and experimental structure. More than a decade after its founding, the gallery continues to reflect on its own history while actively supporting the ongoing development and evolution of the practices it represents.
