Galerie Cécile Fakhoury is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2012 in Abidjan by Cécile Fakhoury, with additional spaces in Dakar and Paris. From its beginnings in Côte d’Ivoire, the gallery has focused on building long term cultural infrastructure in Africa while maintaining an active international presence. It represents established and emerging artists from across the African continent and its diasporas, supporting their practices through exhibitions, participation in international art fairs, biennales, and collaborations with institutions worldwide.
The gallery’s program highlights artistic approaches that question fixed geographical narratives, engage critically with history, and explore apps of memory, identity, and social transformation. In 2020, Galerie Cécile Fakhoury expanded its Abidjan presence with a space dedicated to younger artists, reinforcing its commitment to mentorship and experimentation. The opening of its Paris location in 2021 further extended the gallery’s cross continental dialogue, positioning it as a key platform connecting African artistic production with global contemporary art discourse.
