Galleria dello Scudo is a modern and contemporary art gallery based in Verona, founded in 1968. From its early years, the gallery has concentrated on major figures of 20th century Italian art, distinguishing itself through a rigorous, research driven approach and exhibitions developed in close dialogue with public institutions. Its program reflects a sustained commitment to art historical inquiry, positioning the gallery as both an exhibition space and a center for scholarly collaboration.
Since 1980, Galleria dello Scudo has been a pioneer in scientific and organizational partnerships with museums and cultural institutions in Italy and internationally. Through these collaborations, it has contributed to in depth studies of key artists via critically recognized exhibitions, publications, and catalogues. Recent and ongoing projects include major institutional collaborations focused on artists such as Emilio Vedova, Carla Accardi, Afro, Piero Dorazio, Toti Scialoja, and Nunzio, as well as the production of scholarly volumes and catalogue raisonnés, reinforcing the gallery’s long standing role in the research, exhibition, and historiography of Italian modern and contemporary art.
