Half Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2008 in New York. It began as a small project space on the Lower East Side and has since developed into a platform known for attentive curation and an ongoing dialogue between emerging and established artists. Over time, the gallery has occupied several historically significant locations, including an Upper East Side townhouse formerly associated with architect Stanford White, where it presented artists such as Ginny Casey, Daniel Heidkamp, Natalie Ball, William Anastasi, and Rene Ricard. In 2020, Half Gallery relocated to the East Village, positioning itself within a broader network of cultural institutions and nonprofit spaces.
In addition to its New York program, Half Gallery maintains an active presence in Los Angeles, presenting approximately six exhibitions each year in a historic house built by pioneering filmmaker Dorothy Arzner. Across both cities, the gallery emphasizes experimentation, fresh perspectives, and sustained support for artists at different stages of their careers, contributing to the ongoing development of contemporary art practices in the United States.
