HdM Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2009 by Hadrien de Montferrand in Beijing’s 798 Art District. Its program is centered on Chinese contemporary art, with a strong emphasis on long term artist development and critical engagement. Since its founding, the gallery has presented more than sixty exhibitions and has played an active role in supporting artists such as Lu Chao, Ye Linghan, and Hu Weiyi, helping to position their practices within both the Chinese and international art scenes.
Alongside this core focus, HdM Gallery has worked to expand the visibility of Chinese artists abroad through European pop up exhibitions and collaborations with international galleries, contributing to broader representation opportunities for its artists. At the same time, the gallery has introduced Western artists to Chinese audiences, presenting their work in China for the first time and supporting these projects through talks, institutional collaborations, and publications. Through participation in major art fairs, the production of scholarly catalogues, and temporary exhibitions in cities including Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Shanghai, HdM Gallery maintains an active role in fostering cross cultural dialogue and advancing contemporary art discourse in China.
