Hirschl & Adler Modern is a New York based gallery founded in 1981, specializing in art from 1913 to the present with a strong emphasis on American Modernism and post war art. Alongside its historical focus, the gallery represents a carefully selected group of established and mid career contemporary artists, presenting their work through a regular program of solo and group exhibitions. The gallery operates from an 11,000 square foot space located at the intersection of 57th Street and Madison Avenue.
The gallery forms part of Hirschl & Adler Galleries, established in 1952 and internationally recognized for its longstanding engagement with significant American and European art. Led for more than five decades by President and Director Stuart P. Feld, with Elizabeth Feld joining the leadership in 1999, Hirschl & Adler Modern presents approximately eight to ten exhibitions each year, many accompanied by scholarly publications. Its historically grounded and critically regarded program has contributed works to major private collections and prominent museums in the United States and abroad.
