Ink Studio is a contemporary art gallery based in Beijing’s Caochangdi art district, dedicated to presenting innovative practices grounded in China’s long standing artistic traditions and classical cultural and philosophical thought. The gallery focuses on contemporary ink related art that engages historical methodologies while expanding them through experimental and critically informed approaches, a program that has gained growing international recognition.
Through a closely curated exhibition program supported by critical research, scholarly exchange, and bilingual publications and multimedia initiatives, Ink Studio actively contributes to global discourse on contemporary Chinese art. Works by its artists are held in major public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, LACMA, the Brooklyn Museum, and M+. The gallery regularly participates in international art fairs such as The Armory Show in New York and Art Basel Hong Kong, and its artistic direction is led by Dr. Britta Erickson, an independent scholar and curator with a PhD in Chinese art history from Stanford University, who oversees all programming and research activities.
