Instituto de Visión is a contemporary art gallery operating between Bogotá and New York, dedicated to conceptual art practices and the critical reexamination of discourses historically overlooked within the official canon of Latin American art. The gallery is particularly recognized for its research driven work with significant mid twentieth century Latin American artists and estates, contributing to a broader understanding of conceptual practices developed outside dominant Western narratives.
Alongside this historical focus, Instituto de Visión maintains an active program representing contemporary artists from Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, North America, and other international contexts. Directed by three women, the gallery foregrounds practices that engage with feminist perspectives, queer theory, environmental activism, migration, and other critical positions that challenge established cultural frameworks. Through exhibitions, research, and participation in the international art scene, Instituto de Visión works to expand the visibility of artists whose work addresses pressing social and political realities.
