Kaikai Kiki Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Tokyo, founded by artist Takashi Murakami. Originally emerging from Kaikai Kiki’s activities as an artist studio and management organization, the gallery opened to the public in 2008 following the relocation of its headquarters from Asaka, Saitama, to a purpose built building in Motoazabu. What began as a private viewing space developed into a public gallery conceived as a platform to introduce, support, and promote artists associated with Murakami’s broader artistic ecosystem.
The gallery operates through a model that combines artist management with the presentation and sale of artworks, aiming to generate new social and cultural values around contemporary art while contributing to the growth of the field. Kaikai Kiki Gallery represents a roster of artists closely connected to postwar and contemporary Japanese visual culture, including Mr., AYA TAKANO, Chiho Aoshima, ob, Emi Kuraya, MADSAKI, and Otani Workshop. In parallel, it maintains active collaborations with international artists such as Kasing Lung and FUTURA, reflecting an ongoing commitment to dialogue between Japanese and global art scenes.
