Kicken Berlin

Kicken Berlin is a Berlin based gallery specializing in 19th century, 20th century, and contemporary photography, active since its founding in 1974. Over the course of more than five decades, the gallery has organized over 220 exhibitions that examine photography both as an independent medium and in dialogue with other artistic disciplines, contributing to a broader understanding of its cultural and artistic relevance.

The gallery continues to be shaped by the vision of its founder, Rudolf Kicken (1947–2014), whose guiding mission was to present photography to an international audience as a significant art form and as a visual adventure. Today, Kicken Berlin remains committed to historically important and contemporary photographic practices, maintaining a program that combines scholarship, curatorial depth, and cross disciplinary exploration.
