Leila Heller Gallery was founded in New York City in 1982 and is internationally recognized for its role in fostering dialogue between Western artists and those from the Middle East, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. While maintaining a strong focus on modern and contemporary masters, the gallery has developed a program that emphasizes cross cultural exchange and the presentation of artists within a global art historical context.
In 2015, the gallery expanded its international presence with the opening of a 17,500 square foot space in Dubai, now one of the largest commercial galleries in the Middle East. Known for an ambitious exhibition program developed in collaboration with leading curators, Leila Heller Gallery also organizes panels, film screenings, scholarly publications, and off site projects, and participates regularly in major international art fairs.
