Pippy Houldsworth Gallery is a London based contemporary art gallery dedicated to supporting diverse artistic voices and building long term institutional visibility for an international roster working across painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Since relocating to Heddon Street in Mayfair in 2011, the gallery has developed a program centered on intergenerational exchange, critical dialogue, and close curatorial collaboration, with a strong emphasis on positioning artists within broader historical and institutional contexts.
The gallery is recognized for presenting landmark first UK solo exhibitions by artists such as Jacqueline de Jong, Faith Ringgold, Ming Smith, Judith Godwin, and Carrie Mae Weems, while also providing sustained early support to emerging artists including Jadé Fadojutimi, Li Hei Di, Nengi Omuku, and Shaqúelle Whyte. This commitment is further reflected in The Box, the gallery’s micro project space, which has commissioned ambitious works by figures such as Susan Hiller, Martha Rosler, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Ai Weiwei, and Alina Szapocznikow. Central to the gallery’s mission is the cultivation of long standing museum relationships, leading to significant acquisitions by major international institutions including Tate, Centre Pompidou, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, the Guggenheim Museum, LACMA, the Hammer Museum, and numerous public collections worldwide.
