Rhona Hoffman Gallery is a Chicago based contemporary art gallery founded in 1976 as Young Hoffman Gallery. From its early years, the gallery has been recognized for a program grounded in strong conceptual, formal, and socio political concerns, and for its influential role in supporting emerging artists at formative stages of their careers. It was notably an early advocate for women artists who would go on to shape contemporary art, including Cindy Sherman, Barbara Kruger, Jenny Holzer, and Sylvia Plimack Mangold.
Today, the gallery continues to present a dynamic program that brings together emerging practices and historically significant figures. Its exhibitions have included work by artists such as Vito Acconci, Leon Golub, Sol LeWitt, Gordon Matta Clark, Robert Ryman, Lorna Simpson, Nancy Spero, Carrie Mae Weems, and Kehinde Wiley. Deeply embedded in the Chicago arts community, Rhona Hoffman Gallery maintains close relationships with museums, actively places works in institutional collections, and supports artists based in the city, including Julia Fish, Michael Rakowitz, Amanda Williams, and Anne Wilson.
