Stephen Friedman Gallery is a contemporary art gallery with locations in London and New York, founded in 1995. Originally based in Mayfair, the gallery has developed an international program and in 2023 expanded to new premises at 5–6 Cork Street in London, alongside the opening of a New York space in Tribeca. The gallery represents nearly forty artists and is known for a program that spans a wide range of practices and geographies.
Its exhibitions encompass conceptual and South American art as well as abstraction, minimalism, and figuration across painting, sculpture, video, and installation. Stephen Friedman Gallery has played an important role in the international recognition of artists such as Yinka Shonibare, Kehinde Wiley, David Shrigley, Leilah Babirye, and Jim Hodges. In parallel with its focus on contemporary work, the gallery collaborates closely with significant estates, including those of Manuel Espinosa and Jiro Takamatsu, integrating historical perspectives into its broader curatorial vision.
