Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Osaka that opened in 1989. Since its founding, the gallery has presented a program that brings together Japanese and international artists, introducing figures such as Hiroto Kitagawa, Robert Kushner, and photographer Toshio Shibata to local and broader audiences.
A defining aspect of the gallery’s identity is its close engagement with the legacy of the Gutai Art Association. Through a relationship with the family of its founder, Jiro Yoshihara, the gallery has organized solo exhibitions of key Gutai artists including Jiro Yoshihara, Michio Yoshihara, Sadamasa Motonaga, Shozo Shimamoto, and Takesada Matsutani. By combining contemporary practices with historically significant avant garde movements, Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery plays an important role in sustaining dialogue between postwar Japanese art history and the present.
