Galeria Kogan Amaro is a contemporary art gallery founded in São Paulo in 2006, with a second location opened in 2019 at the Löwenbräu Cultural Center in Zurich. Operating from a 230 square meter space in the Jardins neighborhood and a 350 square meter gallery in Zurich, the gallery has established an international platform for contemporary Brazilian art presented in dialogue with key historical movements. Its program brings together emerging and established artists and frequently connects contemporary practices with historical references, creating conceptually structured exhibitions that reflect Brazil’s artistic and intellectual heritage.
Alongside its contemporary program, Galeria Kogan Amaro has organized significant historical exhibitions, particularly in Zurich, including solo presentations dedicated to artists such as Frans Krajcberg, Sérvulo Esmeraldo, and Flávio de Carvalho, as well as projects engaging with Brazilian Concrete art. The gallery is led by founders Ksenia Kogan Amaro and Marcos Amaro, whose broader cultural activities inform the gallery’s mission. Closely linked to the Marcos Amaro Art Foundation and FAMA Museum, the gallery also supports initiatives in free art education, exhibitions, residencies, scholarships, and international cultural exchange, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Brazilian and international art.
