Tomio Koyama Gallery, Tokyo 2

Tomio Koyama Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Tokyo, founded in 1996 in Saga cho, Koto ku. From its earliest years, the gallery played a formative role in introducing and supporting young Japanese artists, helping to shape currents that have become central to the development of Japanese contemporary art. In 2016, the gallery relocated to Roppongi, and in 2022 it expanded further with the opening of an additional space in Tennozu, strengthening its presence within Tokyo’s cultural landscape.

Since its founding, Tomio Koyama Gallery has actively participated in international art fairs and maintained a program that bridges generations, media, and national contexts. The gallery represents artists such as Kishio Suga, Mika Ninagawa, Hiroshi Sugito, and Richard Tuttle, while also regularly presenting exhibitions of ceramic artists. By introducing a wide range of practices, from established figures to emerging talents, and moving beyond rigid distinctions of nationality or genre, the gallery aims to develop the contemporary art market through an original and open curatorial perspective.
